I heard a quote this week which made me think of you. It's apparently Dr Seuss, but it sums things up perfectly. "Don't be sad because it's over, behappy because it happened" Although there's always some little internal struggle when I'm feeling sad- you would have never let me be so sad about missing you.... that quote comes into my head and even though I don't think I ever heard you say it- it sounds like the kind of thing you would say! I did however find a little quote from one of our old msn chats which really made me giggle today: You said: "think a happy thought as you fall asleep and you will sleep peacefully..."a quote from a famous Philosopher Peten Von Duckustos. :-D Me and Bob (or Bob and I) really missed you sailing this year. Its Barton day every time, we were sitting there BBQing just thinking how much fun you would have had. You could have been my first mate and had to take orders from me all week! :) Miss you xxx |

just decided to peruse the posts. (not entirely sure how to spell peruse, but i can't be arsed to spell check it) Was out in Snorbs last night and was greeted from the other side of the road by a group of youth who'd been on the marlboro yachting trip and they were so pleased to see me and for whatever reason i thought of you. just wish you'd gone on these adventures with us. ignore clare you would have been taking orders (i mean polite requests in the interests of the boat) from me on my boat. carry on keeping an eye on us all :) ps i finally found another magnum vending machine other than the ones at the vicky centre and at barton mills. its on the a14 though so bit of a mission |

Hey Pete. You were in my dream last night. I was watching the F1 (except I think it was at Whipsnade Zoo?!) and it rained to the point of 2m deep puddles and the cars got stuck and Michael Schumacher was of course there (sat drying under a tree) and Rubens -who opened his visor and loads of water came out - and you. No reason to write today except that I have been thinking of you lots probably because it's BBQ time and you are always with us then We lit the chiminea on Saturday and although the flames were high they were no match with the ones you managed -with the help of Pip and Mark -Sean and Tom stayed the weekend we now have 2 spare rooms as Pip is in Wixhams with Joey Uncle John is at a tractor auction on Saturday a dangerous place for him to be I'm hiding the credit card !!! It's in the garage! Uncle John "tinkered" with it on Saturday then it wouldn't start on Sunday!! Had to have a"something" fitted on Tuesday and burst into life with a cloud of black smoke so he is a happy boy now Soon to be seen cruising the village on a weekend Will keep you informed xxx |

A very wet holiday and windy inside and outside the caravan but it was good to get away U John has been showing the orchard sprayer all weekend and it rained again The tractor is still waiting to be legal then it is going out on a trip to the green lanes behind Broomhills Took Auntie Lily to Pip and Joeys on Saturday he is well working hard enjoys his work wasn't built to sit still too long you both have "round bottoms" Missing you lots xxx |

Tractor is now legal so has had it's first outing only to Woodside and back U John driving followed by Dave Soper in the Land Rover with your Dad taking a video of the action.Black smoke pouring out the brakes were smoking by the time we got back but all three of them had big smiles/ We thought you would probably have ridden on the bonnet to get the best view Lots of tinkering to do now but pleased it works ok Steam Rallies here we come !!Miss you xxx |

Garage is busy at the moment Pips land rover has needed surgery - all done now. U John can't move too well but he "enjoys" the challenge! Not too long before the rallies so he is tinkering with the tractor and enjoying that Might even have a BBQ before too long !! yo pete, nearly 6 years since we finally bumped into each other at uni. Im off tomorrow to attempt to tick off the list another board sport called, (and it sounds better if you imagine james may saying the words) "wake boarding". See your laughing. Seising the moment and no regrets (is that how you spell seising when mechanical gears grind down and stop) anyway im sure tomorrow will be a valiant yet enjoyable failure and hilarity will ensue as usual in my exploits. keep nudging me in the ribs when i consider bottling out of something. |

We now have 2 Land Rovers.The red one has been "poorly" and is being made better! There is now a 50th anniversary one parked on the drive-tractor is in the garage.Had a bad year for rallies in fact they have all been cancelled BUT there is one at the end of Sept so all hands on deck for that one.U John and I are off on our hols next week driving to Orkney Pip Joey and Cooper,Sean Tom and Dan are all well Nearly a year since A Lily left us Hope she is behaving herself!
